Summerhill

Summerhill Parish Church

This is the web site of Summerhill Parish Church, a Church of Scotland congregation in the Summerhill area of Aberdeen, Scotland.  We hope that you will enjoy your visit to our ‘virtual’ parish and will be encouraged to join us in person at our services.

The Charge of Summerhill has been vacant since the departure of our previous minister in June 2008. We are delighted announce that Rev Michael Shewan will preach to the congregation as Sole Nominee at the morning service at 11am on Sunday 12th September.

Michael, who has his roots in the north-east of Scotland, has served as parish minister in two churches in central Scotland.  He has now decided to return to the Aberdeen area and feels ‘strangely’ called to Summerhill.

All members of Summerhill are encouraged to come to the service on 12th September to hear Michael conduct worship and cast their votes.

The Sanctuary is fitted with an induction loop for hearing aid users

There is wheelchair access to the building

To facilitate worship in Woodend Hospital, teams from congregations within the area assist patients to get to the chapel.  Summerhill provides volunteers on the first Sunday of each month.
Where the people can’t come to the services, a team of volunteer worship leaders take the services to the people in the following homes:
Rosewell Gardens
Gray Court
Denseat Court
Bressay Brae
